“In most cases, studying MBBS in Russia works out cheaper
than paying donation and studying in India. Since each class has a maximum of
11 students, the students will be able to get personalised attention as well,”
a counsellor explained at an awareness session conducted by the Russian
Cultural Centre in Puducherry.
Session at Russian Cultural Centre points out advantages of
doing MBBS in Russia
There are some fears about studying in Russia, but overall
the education in the country is very good.
Once students finish they will be able to take a screening
test and complete one year’s internship and become regular doctors in India,
the counsellor said. The cost of studying MBBS in Russia is approximately $
4000 per year and the course will last for five years and eight months.
For students who score between 65 per cent and 95 per cent,
Russia is a good option since the medical field is fairly advanced and the
colleges in Russia consider all students who score over 65 per cent to be in
the same category. Students who study in Russia need to apply for an
eligibility certificate in order to appear for MCI’s screening test.
In the last academic year, 120 students from India went to
study MBBS in Russia. For further details, students can contact the Russian
Centre of Science and Culture on 044-2498 6860.
