Hewlett Packard (HP) on Thursday entered the tablet market in India, launching HP ElitePad. The price of the tablet starts at Rs43,500.

 The tablet is designed for businesses and governments but is also available to general consumers.
 The ultra-thin, lightweight tablet runs with Microsoft’s latest Windows 8 operating system.
 The tablet also comes with optional smart jackets, which add connectivity options and an additional battery for longer runtime.
 Powered by next-generation Intel mobile processors, it supports touch, pen or voice based input.
 The Executive Tablet Pen for Rs3,499 allows users to write messages and notes in their natural handwriting directly on the screen and then save or convert to typed text for use in other applications.
 The battery supports the tablet for eight hours but with expanded battery it can be used for 19 hours. The other features of the 0.63 kg and 9.2 mm thin tablet include 10.1 inch diagonal display and e-printing. The integrated battery pack is priced at Rs6,999.
 This business tablet has got a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x800 pixels. Running on Windows 8 Pro, this tablet has a 1.8GHz Intel Atom dual core processor paired with 2GB RAM. It has an 8MP rear camera along with a 1080p front facing video camera.
 Weighing 0.63 kg, the rugged HP ElitePad 900 is 9.2 mm thin. The tablet is available in two variants - 32GB and 64GB.The 16-by-10 aspect ratio is said to maximise the display area. The HP ElitePad uses CNC-machined aluminum and Corning Gorilla Glass 2.
 The tablet has a 1080p front-facing video camera and an 8 megapixel rear camera with an LED flash. The camera also includes CyberLink YouCam software.
 The tablet features HP ElitePad Smart Jackets, which add connectivity options and an additional ultra-slim battery for longer runtime, along with specific add-ons that customise the tablet for specialized uses.
 The ElitePad docking station comprises a keyboard and monitor that brings a desktop like experience to the tablet. The dock charges the tablet and provides users with a secondary screen for multitasking. This docking station is available for Rs9,999.
