List of university rank holders among 2012 engineering
graduates released
If the number of university rank holders a certain
engineering college produces is anything to go by, many of the city colleges
are coasting along.
The long-awaited list of university rank holders of Anna
University among the 2012 engineering graduates was released on Saturday.
Officials of several engineering colleges affiliated to Anna
University said the number of rankers in their colleges has increased
significantly this year, mainly because Anna University this year has a
separate list of toppers for colleges under Anna University, Chennai, instead
of a consolidated list.
“Students in Tiruchy and Tirunelveli have scored much better
marks. That also shows the evaluation has been rather strict here,” said a
college official.
Common traits in all the top-performing colleges are strict
rules of attendance, everyday remedial classes and regular class tests.
